A pair of local emergency departments face more weekend closures.
The Strait Richmond Hospital’s ER in Evanston is in the midst of a closure that started at 7 a.m. Saturday and continues until 8 a.m. Monday.
The emergency department at Baddeck’s Victoria Co. Memorial Hospital shuts down at 4 p.m. Sunday; it re-opens at 8 a.m. Tuesday.
A similar closure took place Saturday.
Health officials say a lack of physician coverage is the reason for both closures.
