The Town of Mulgrave is getting major fixes on three streets.
It’s part of the $642,281 capital plan town council approved Monday.
Mayor Ralph Hadley tells The Hawk they’ll repave sections of Murray Street, Hattie Street, and Main Street.
“We’re tired of beating our vehicles up and everybody complaining about the roads,” he says.
Hadley says those streets are some of the highest trafficked areas in town.
He says they’ll use reserve funds and a loan against upcoming gas tax, which’ll leave some money in the town’s reserve accounts.
“We kept putting it off, putting it off,” he says. “We haven’t got a lot of money, so we do a little at a time. We’re tired of band-aiding, patching, and patching, and patching.”
The capital budget also includes water main repairs and some other equipment purchases for the town.
