Officials say Mulgrave duck pond is staying

Mulgrave’s Mayor says the town’s duck pond is not going anywhere.

Ralph Hadley says he received numerous letters from residents and former residents from as far as Alberta concerned town officials were considering getting rid of the pond at the entrance to the town along with the ducks and geese that live there.

After Monday night’s monthly town council meeting Hadley said that’s not the case.

“It’s not going anywhere, there was misinterpretation maybe at a meeting, the duck pond is staying there- the ducks are staying there,” he says. “We are raising some funds trying to beautify it a little bit, but not tax payer’s funds.”

Hadley said they’re considering putting in some rock wall, getting rid of old trees and replanting.
