The parties involved in the poultry and farm animals dispute in the Town of Mulgrave still seem far apart when it comes to a resolution.
The debate came up again in front of a full gallery at November’s regular town council meeting Monday night; the meeting featured some heated debate at times, but nothing close to a solution.
After, Ralph Hadley, the town’s mayor, told The Hawk they’ll keep talking to members of the town’s Backyard Farmers Association to try to come to a resolution.
“Council now are going to meet with them again, and try to come up with some ideas how we can put this to rest.”
Hadley said they’ll sit down with association members Monday.
He said there’s no way they’ll satisfy everyone involved.
“There’s no solution out there that’ll please everybody- there’s going to be some people upset and some people happy,” he said. “It’s been a hard three or four months, and I’m getting very tired of it- we have to try to put it to rest soon.”
Hadley said he hopes they’re able to come up with some sort of resolution in a month or two.
He said their solicitor advised them not to take action with a bylaw, because they don’t have a relevant one in place.
