Inverness Co.‘s warden says the push for improved cellular coverage in the municipality continues.
Provincial and municipal officials have been asking for improvements to cell coverage in Inverness Co. for years.
Betty Ann MacQuarrie, the municipality’s warden, tells The Hawk they hope to take a step forward soon.
“Staff are working on a (request for proposals) just to gather information on what has to be done, who’s going to do it, what providers may be willing to come on board, and go from there.”
MacQuarrie says councillors discussed the issue at their recent regular and committee of the whole meetings.
Inverness Co. officials have worked with their counterparts in Richmond Co. and Victoria Co., as well as Mi’kmaq leaders in the area, on the issue in the past.
