NDP candidate says pharmacare will make Cape Breton-Canso better

The NDP candidate for Cape Breton-Canso said this election is about improving the lives of people in our local communities.

Jana Reddick represents the New Democratic Party in the riding.

Reddick tells The Hawk one of the key ways the NDP will do that is by bringing in national pharmacare.

“Get pharmacare out there for everybody,” she said. “Have a full-on national strategy where you’re not paying for healthcare with your credit card.”

Reddick said she understands the struggle.

She said she’s felt the pain of trying to get healthcare and mental healthcare.

“I’ve known the struggle of trying to build a life here and I just want to make it easier for people to stay here and build their families,” she said. “We get left behind so often, and just forgotten about because we’re just so big, and yet so separated, that we’re able to just be ignored.”

Reddick said our communities are worth working for and it’s a problem that needs to be solved.

She said pharmacare is one of the best ways to improve the lives of people in the riding.
