Newfoundland men arrested following Port Hastings bust plead not guilty

Two men from Newfoundland charged in relation to a drug bust in Inverness Co. have entered not guilty pleas to all their charges.

RCMP say officers made a traffic stop on Hwy. 105 in Port Hastings in March.

They say they seized 10 pounds of marijuana and 100 grams of shatter, a highly potent form of cannabis resin.

David Bruce Huxter, 58, of Little Bay and Carl Walter Jacobs, 64 of Deer Lake each face a pair of possession for the purpose of trafficking charges.

Huxter and Jacobs pleaded not guilty in Port Hawkesbury Provincial Court Monday; they’re scheduled to stand trial April 5.
