Nova Scotia & NFLD crews to be featured on Deadliest Catch spin off

If you’re a fan of Deadliest Catch, here is some pretty exciting news especially if you’re like me and get a kick of seeing Nova Scotia featured on TV shows! In the first international spinoff, Deadliest Catch: Northern Edge will put crews from Nova Scotia and Newfoundland and Labrador front and center.

The show will follow crab fishing crews from Nova Scotia and Newfoundland as they head out into the North Atlantic.

Filming is already underway, happening across Newfoundland, Nova Scotia and on the water. The series is expected to premiere in Winter of 2027 on Discovery in Canada with an 8-episode season.

This is the first time Deadliest Catch has expanded globally like this, which is a pretty big nod to how important and intense Atlantic Canada’s fishery really is. It also puts Nova Scotia and Newfoundland on the map in a whole new way, showing millions of viewers what life is really like for those that make their living out on the water.
