It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Adele Marlene MacRae, which occurred in Arichat on June 20, 2026.
Born in Antigonish, she was the beloved daughter of Donald and Beverly (Chamberlain) MacRae.
She was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion branch 47, she worked at the nursing home in Port Hawkesbury, and she was a secretary for CUPE.
Adele will be lovingly remembered by her parents, Donald and Beverly MacRae of Dundee; sisters, Angela MacRae (Steve Mercer) of Lower River, Alison (Patrick) Marchand of Cleveland; Nephew, Jordan MacRae’Covin; niece, Samantha Burton; godchild, Laila Buchanan; aunts, Veronica (Richard) Chamberlain, of Alberta, Linda (Brian) Buchanan, of Kempt Road, Barbara (Charlie) MacRae, of Dundee; uncles Colin (Janie) Chamberlain, of Kempt Road, Kirk (Brenda) Chamberlain, of Dundee and Blair (Valerie) Chamberlain, of Louisdale.
She is also survived by her loving partner, Alfred LeBlanc, of Arichat; his son Gregory (Cheryl) LeBlanc, of St. Peter’s; loving and adored grandchildren Emily and Ethan who held a special place in her heart; Bonnie (Bruce) Campbell. Adele is loved and missed by her puppy Annie.
She was predeceased by her paternal grandparents DD & Flora MacRae, maternal grandparents, Arnold and Catherine Chamberlain and uncle, Johnny MacRae.
Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation or funeral mass per request. A burial will take place on July 18th at 1pm in the MacKay cemetery in St. George’s Channel. A reception to follow at the St. George’s Channel Hall.
Memorial donations in memory of Adele can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia.
