Elsie Marie Michaud

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Elsie Marie Michaud on Thursday, October 15, 2026, at the age of 96.

Elsie was the true epitome of love, understanding, and compassion. Blessed with a warm heart and a constant smile for everyone she met, her door was always open. Anyone who stopped by was warmly welcomed into her home with a hot cup of tea, fresh biscuits, and freshly baked rolls, accompanied by good conversation and laughter.

A woman of deep faith and community, Elsie was a lifelong member of St. Joseph’s Parish in Port Hawkesbury. She also brought her signature joy, vibrant personality, and sense of fun to the Red Hat Society as a proud, longtime “Red Hatter.”

Elsie had a profound, lifelong love for music that brought everyone together. Summer visits with Elsie were unforgettable—filled with family, friends, and endless music. Countless kitchen parties were hosted around the piano, filled with lively fiddle tunes, singing, and pure joy. Those musical gatherings created beautiful, cherished memories that will live on with all who shared in them.

She is survived by her loving sister, Liz (John) of Kingston, Ontario, as well as many, many cherished nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews, all of whom held a special place in her heart.

She was predeceased by her first husband, John MacEachern; her second husband, Robert Michaud; her brothers, Cecil, William, John, and Clifford and her sisters, Mary, Eunice, Emily, Catherine, and Peggy.

Visitation will be held from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, October 29, 2026 in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, 724 Granville St., Port Hawkesbury and from where the funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, October 30, 2026 Deacon Berkley Guthro officiating.
