October 4, 1951 – May 4, 2026
Kenneth Joseph, (Kenny) DeCoste 74 Havre Boucher passed away on May 4th in St Martha’s Hospital after a brief illness . He was the son of the late Ethel (DeGruchy) & Raymond X. DeCoste, Havre Boucher.
Kenny was a quiet man, with a strong sense of family, a wicked sense of humour and a big heart. He loved working with wood. He created and gifted many lovingly made items over the years, especially his “Hope, Dream, Change” piece, which was an inspiration to all who received his handiwork.
He had recently celebrated his 49th year of sobriety as a proud member of Alcoholics Anonymous. He supported many over the years but especially during his time as an employee of Recovery House, a job he was most proud of.
Left to mourn are Sisters, Dianne (Eldon) Fitzpatrick, Phyllis (Allen) MacAskill, Havre Boucher; Gail (Paul) Lukeman, Lower South River; Pearl (late Dave) Richardson, Amherst; Sherry (John) Forrestall, Nine Mile River; brothers, Clifford (Millie), Allister (Anna), Havre Boucher; Linden (Charlene) Port Hawkesbury. Many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a sister, Melanie in 1989, brothers, Tony in 2017, Raphael and Keith in 2022.
There is no visitation. Funeral service will be held at 11am on Friday, May 8th, at St. Paul’s Church in Havre Boucher with Rev. Allan MacPhie presiding; burial in the Parish Cemetery. Reception to follow in the Community Centre.
