One person dead after Inverness Co. personal watercraft incident

A 58-year-old man from Port Hawkesbury is dead after a personal watercraft incident.

RCMP say they responded with EHS on Wednesday morning to a campground in Lake Ainslie.

The Port Hawkesbury man was located wearing a life-vest and was unresponsive in the water less than 100 meters from the shore.

He was brought back to land by people from the campground in a paddle boat and another watercraft.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene and he was alone at the time of the incident.

RCMP say the investigation is ongoing, including cause of death.

Foul play is not suspected.
