Pair arrested in busts committed to stand trial

Two people from Louisdale charged in relation to a pair of drug busts have been committed to stand trial.

RCMP say members of their Street Crime Enforcement Unit searched a home in Louisdale and seized oxycodone, marijuana and drug paraphernalia in March.

Herbert Joseph Sampson, 54, and Patricia Ann Peeples, 53, have each been charged with possession of oxycodone for the purpose of trafficking and possession of marijuana for the purpose of trafficking.

They also each face two counts of possession for purpose of trafficking and a breach in relation to a vehicle stop in Port Hastings in May.

Sampson and Peeples, who were committed to stand trial Thursday, have elected a Nova Scotia Supreme Court trial by judge alone; they’re scheduled to have a date set for that trial Friday.
