Pair facing charges following home search have case adjourned

A pair of suspects charged following a drug bust in Port Hawkesbury have had their case adjourned.

Police say Joseph Allison Sponagle, 26, of Havre Boucher and Destiny Hope Matthews, 23, of Inverness Co. are both facing charges for possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine, hydromorphone and dexamphetamine.

RCMP say they executed a search warrant at a home in Cameron Court in August.

They say a quantity of cocaine, hydromorphone, dexamphetamine and other drug paraphernalia was seized.

The pair were due in Port Hawkesbury Provincial Court for election-and-plea Monday; instead, the hearing was adjourned until Feb. 26.
