A father and son charged in an apparent case of vigilante justice in Guysborough Co. are expected back in court in March.
RCMP say the operator of one fishing boat deliberately rammed another boat in May 2018.
They say no one was hurt, but one boat was damaged.
Police say it stemmed from recent fishing licence changes in the area, even though no one involved was fishing illegally.
They say they responded to an assault complaint one night later; the victim was taken to hospital with injuries.
RCMP say they believe that was related to the incident the night before.
They say they arrested four people in total.
Eric Victor Pace, 65, from Marie Joseph faces one count of dangerous operation of a motor vessel; Richard Pace, 46, from Marie Joseph has been charged with uttering threats and mischief causing danger to life.
They entered not guilty pleas during an election-and-plea hearing in Antigonish Provincial Court Wednesday; they’re scheduled for pre-trial conferences March 3.
Austin Stillmant Chambers, 53, of Ecum Secum pleaded not guilty to an assault causing bodily harm count in Nov. 2018; his trial in Antigonish Provincial Court wrapped up in Sept. 2019.
The judge found him not guilty in December.
