Parts of Margaree River Closed to Anglers

The Department of Fisheries and Oceans has announced an extension of the area closed on the Margaree River to angling due to high water temperatures

They say angling for all species of fish will be closed from the highway bridges in East Margaree River upstream to Doyles Bridge on the Northeast Margaree, including the Forks Pool.

That includes the Gallant River upstream from its confluence with the Margaree River to the highway bridge on the East Margaree Road.

However it does not include any other tributaries and not including the Southwest Margaree River.

The closures are effective as of 4:00 p.m Friday and until further notice.

DFO will monitor conditions on a daily basis and will issue a notice to recreational anglers when this restriction is lifted.
