Pedestrian warning system in Pictou Co. vandalized with $10K worth of damage

Police are looking for who is responsible for vandalizing an advanced pedestrian warning system in Pictou County.

In a post on social media, RCMP say it was on Logan Rd. in Trenton and has significant damage, now unusable and will cost $10,000 to repair.

They say it costs more than $20,000 to install and includes a warning light to alert drivers when a pedestrian is about to cross the road.

Police believe it happened somewhere between June 7 and 11.

If you have information you are asked to contact Pictou County District RCMP at 902-485-4333 or Crime Stoppers toll-free at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
