The Liberal candidate for Inverness said he’s taking a grassroots approach and talking to people.
Damian MacInnis said it’s an important part of politics.
MacInnis said he’s travelled to every corner of the enormous riding while campaigning.
“It was going for 13 hours a day, and I have over 6000 km on my vehicle,” he said. “I heard a lot of good, bad, and sad stories.”
MacInnis said people in the north of the riding haven’t been served through 22 years of Tory leadership.
He said he intends to change that.
“I really want to make that sure I have somebody in Cheticamp every three weeks,” he said. “Where I’m representing that area, they need to be heard.”
MacInnis said the needs of constituents varied from north to south, with housing top of mind in the northern half and healthcare a recurring theme in the southern half.
