Pharmacy swamped with calls for vaccine bookings

The owner of a local pharmacy says they’re getting calls to book COVID-19 vaccinations.

Michael Hatt, the owner/operator of Medicine Shoppe in Port Hawkesbury, says they’re scheduled to start vaccinating people 80 years of age and older as part of a three-week pilot project Tuesday.

Hatt tells The Hawk they’ve been flooded with calls from people trying to schedule a vaccination directly after issues with the online booking website Monday, which is preventing them from getting to their regular calls.

He says pharmacies can’t book vaccinations- it has to be done through the online site or by calling 1-833-797-7772.
