Guysborough Co. wind farm a step closer to reality

A local business has taken another step toward building a wind farm in Guysborough Co.

Port Hawkesbury Paper has installed two meteorological towers at the proposed site to monitor conditions in the area.

PHP reps say the towers will be in place collecting data for the next year.

They say, if all goes well, construction of a wind farm could begin in 2022.

PHP reps say their Port Hawkesbury plant is the single biggest customer of Nova Scotia Power, making up a full ten per cent of provincial demand.
