Pirates host Bulldogs in seventh and deciding game

The playoff edition of the Battle of the Quad Counties comes down to a winner-take-all game seven Tuesday night.

The Strait Pirates host the Antigonish Bulldogs in the seventh and deciding game of the Sid Rowe Division semi-final in the Nova Scotia Junior Hockey League playoffs.

The Pirates won the series opener, the Bulldogs won the next three to put the Pirates on the brink of elimination, then the Pirates won the last two to stay alive.

Taylor Lambke, the head coach of the Pirates, tells The Hawk they need to keep playing desperate hockey.

“Similar to the last two games, we’ve just to play desperate defensively- make sure we’re limiting their chances as much as we can, and try to take advantage of our opportunities,” he says. “I think the puck has started to go in the last couple games, so we’ve got to keep pressing for some goals, and make sure we’re taking care of our own end at the same time.”

Puck drop at the Port Hawkesbury Civic Centre is 7:30 p.m.

The winner advances to meet the Miners in the Sid Rowe Division final; the loser is eliminated.
