Police looking for hit and run suspect following incident with dog

RCMP are asking for your help following a hit and run incident involving a dog in Port Hawkesbury.

Police say a girl, 15, was walking with a dog across Reeves St. at a pedestrian crosswalk near a pub in the town at about 7:30 p.m. Friday.

RCMP say a vehicle struck the dog; the driver immediately fled the scene.

Police say the dog was taken to an animal hospital to be treated for sustained injuries.

They say they’ve determined the car’s description to be a small, gold/tan Honda.
