If you are a business owner, the premier will soon be making his rounds from one tip of the province to the other to answer questions on opportunities and challenges ahead.

Tim Houston is going on a summer tour.

According to the province, Houston will speak at the chambers of commerce from Yarmouth to Cape Breton in July and August.

  • Wednesday, July 15 – Annapolis Valley Chamber of Commerce
  • Thursday, July 16 – Yarmouth and Area Chamber of Commerce
  • Tuesday, July 28 – Bridgewater and Area Chamber of Commerce
  • Wednesday, July 29 – Pictou County Chamber of Commerce
  • Tuesday, August 4 – Truro and Colchester Chamber of Commerce
  • Wednesday, August 12: Strait Area Chamber of Commerce
  • Thursday, August 13 – Cape Breton Regional Chamber of Commerce.

He also plans on speaking with business owners.

“There is so much opportunity in Nova Scotia, and I’m extremely optimistic about the future,” said Houston in a news release.

He said although we are in a difficult fiscal position with a $1.24 billion deficit, we still need to make major investments in things like affordability, healthcare, long-term care and education.

“But the good news is, we have tremendous opportunities ahead in defence, wind, energy and local businesses who are ready to take the world stage.”

A separate public engagement process fun by the finance department and specific to the 2027-28 budget will be in the fall.
