Pride Month kickoff in Port Hawkesbury

Port Hawkesbury marked the beginning of Pride Month yesterday with a gathering that brought people together in celebration, visibility and support.

A group assembled outside the Civic Centre for a Pride flag raising. Following the flag raising, participants marched together to Grant’s Pond, where they placed hand-painted rainbow rocks along the edge of the fountain area.

Each rock carried messages of acceptance, encouragement, and affirmation.

The IDEA Committee will be meeting next Monday to paint more rainbow rocks, offering another opportunity for residents to contribute to this growing display of support.
