Projects supporting local health priorities get funding

Reps with some local non-profit organizations have received funding.

Officials with the nine community health boards in the province’s eastern zone have announced nearly $147,000 for projects that support local health priorities.

Locally, some of the Antigonish Co. projects include the Antigonish Co. Adult Learning Association’s Songs in Streets and Kindness Boxes at École Acadienne de Pomquet.

Guysborough Co. projects include the Canso Garden Club’s Winged Blossom Project and the food pantry at the Mulgrave and Area Medical Centre.

Inverness Co. organizations in line for funding include L’Arche Cape Breton and Cheticamp’s community transit group.
