A number of local businesses and organizations have received funding to help improve accessibility.
Officials with the provincial government say they’ve invested more than $1 million to help 41 business increase accessibility through their Business ACCESS-Ability Program.
Route 19 in Inverness is in line for more than $82,000, Glenora Distillers 1994 Ltd. in Inverness is receiving more than $50,000, Inverness’ Caper Gym and Fitness is getting close to $37,000, and Dr. John Waters Community Health in Port Hood is getting more than $27,000.
Other local recipients include Celtic Air Services in Port Hastings ($8,600), Whycocomagh’s Iron Mountain Wilderness Cabins ($10,000), Bluenose Insurance from St. Peter’s and Sydney ($15,372), Inverness’ Cabot Links ($11,110), That Dog Place Inc. in Port Hawkesbury ($3,511) and St. Peter’s Janova Enterprises ($10,985).
