Spring has come and gone.
The last full day of the season was Sunday; summer officially arrived early Monday.
This year saw a warmer, wetter spring for the Quad Counties, says Environment Canada’s Senior Climatologist, Dave Phillips.
Phillips says the area saw more than double the amount of rain it normally would in the early months of Spring.
“[The area] had more than double your [normal] amount of rainfall,” Phillips says. “It was almost like money in the bank because what we saw in May and June were dryer than normal conditions.”
Phillips also notes that this Spring was about two degrees warmer than in previous years, with the exception of May. May saw temperatures about one degree cooler than are typical.
