RCMP says man and missing girl believed to be on foot

RCMP say they now believe a 47-year-old man and missing 14-year-old girl, subjects of a weeklong manhunt, are on foot.

Police say they found a campsite and green ATV in the Canoe Lake area Thursday afternoon, believed to be used by Darcy Doyle and the missing girl, Molly Martin.

They say RCMP and Cape Breton Regional Police are conducting a ground search in the area, as well as aerial surveillance using Nova Scotia Department of Lands and Forestry helicopters.

RCMP say the Canoe Lake area is heavily wooded with numerous ATV and walking trails; evidence suggests they are still in the area, but there is a possibility the two may have left.

Martin is described as 5′ 1″, 100 lbs with brown hair and brown eyes, a rose tattoo on her left forearm, and she may be wearing eyeglasses.

Doyle, from Mira Gut, is described as 6′ 0″, 190 lbs, with long black hair, a full beard and moustache, and brown eyes.
