Richmond Co. building supplies manufacturer announces $6.5 million upgrades

A Point Tupper business is spending $6,535,000 to upgrade its facilities.

In a release, Marcel Girouard, president of drywall producer Cabot Manufacturing, says the money will be used to increase capacity, expand into new products, modernize equipment and processes, and potentially create new jobs.

He says they’ve gotten funding from Nova Scotia Business Inc; who’ll rebate $1,633,750 of the cost once the project is complete.

A release from NSBI says the upgrades will not only support meeting increased demand for drywall products in Canada, but will also create new export opportunities in the United States.
