A 24-year-old Wallace man has died after being thrown from a boat in the Northumberland Strait.
RCMP say emergency crews were called around 10:40 p.m. Tuesday, June 30, after a report that someone had been thrown from a boat.
Police say five people were on board when the boat ran aground near Oak Island, off the shore of Wallace Bay.
One passenger was thrown from the vessel and suffered life-threatening injuries.
He was taken to the wharf in Wallace, where he was pronounced dead.
RCMP say the person operating the boat, a 19-year-old man from Wallace Station, was arrested and later released while police continue looking into what happened.

It is one of two fatal boating incidents reported in Nova Scotia around Canada Day.
In Kings County, two men died after being thrown from a boat on Aylesford Lake on Canada Day.
