Sherbrooke Village workers vote in favour of new contract

Workers at the province’s only living museum have ratified a new contract with their employer.

Sherbrooke Village workers approved their tentative agreement in a ratification vote April 26.

Officials with the Nova Scotia Government and General Employees Union say 95 per cent of the roughly 40 members of Local 50 at the Guysborough Co. museum who cast ballots voted in favour of the deal.

The six-year contract is retroactive to April 2016; it expires in March 2022.

Union reps reached a tentative agreement following conciliation talks with their provincial counterparts April 13.
