Some US owned companies liquor still on NSLC shelves – here’s why

The first thing you will notice when you walk into an NSLC location is some bare shelves.

This is because American alcohol has been pulled in response to the newly imposed tariffs.

You can see a full list of what has been removed here.

The second thing you may notice is that some alcohol from American owned companies remains. NSLC issued a statement explaining why:

Following the Province’s announcement on Tuesday, March 4, we will stop selling U.S. products. These are products that are made, manufactured, and/or produced in the U.S., regardless of where the product is shipped from.
At this time, this does not apply to products from U.S.-owned companies that are made/manufactured/produced/bottled/packaged and shipped from a location within Canada to the NSLC.
As always, we encourage you to talk to one of our knowledgeable team members who would be happy to help you with a local product recommendation.
