St.FX holds graduation over the weekend

Thousands of students graduated from St.FX University over the weekend.

The weekend was full of events and celebrations leading up to Sunday’s convocation. Students from the classes of 2020 and 2021 were treated to a special celebration on Saturday. They were given the chance to walk across the stage and accept their degrees, something they couldn’t do before because of the pandemic.

The university also conferred a handful of honourary degrees for distinguished members of the international development and health communities. Dr John Gaventa received an honorary degree for his significant contributions to adult education, academic scholarship, and international development.

He addressed this year’s graduating class, telling them, “As you pursue your journey, keep learning. Your education doesn’t stop with graduation.”
