StFX officials relax mask policy

You’re no longer required to wear a mask outdoors at StFX.

University officials have relaxed their mask policy, effective Thursday.

Everyone on campus- both inside and outside- had to wear a mask since students returned to campus.

In a letter to members of the university community, Andy Hakin, the president of StFX, says masks are no longer required outside when physical distancing can be maintained.

Hakin says academic classes of less than 50 students that include physically strenuous activity or outdoor activity also don’t require masks.

He says university officials may revert to a mandatory mask-wearing policy- indoors and outdoors- if there’s an outbreak.
