A 24-hour emergency department closure will be in place at a hospital in the Quad Counties.
Officials with the Nova Scotia Health Authority say the ER at the Strait Richmond Hospital in Evanston will close at 8 a.m. Wednesday, and re-open at 8 a.m. Thursday.
They say physician unavailability to cover the shift is the reason for the closure.
You’re asked to go to another ER or call 911 with a medical emergency; you can call 811 for any non-urgent issues.
The emergency room at Guysborough Memorial Hospital is also closed due to lack of physician coverage until Saturday morning.
