Suspect in Cheticamp fire has case adjourned

A man facing an arson charge following a fire in Inverness Co. is expected back in court in March.

Blaze Anthony Basker, 46, who is also charged with failure to comply with conditions, was scheduled for election-and-plea in Port Hawkesbury Provincial Court Monday; instead, the hearing was adjourned until March 29.

Police say officers responded to a boat on fire at a Cheticamp business in December.

They say they investigated, and determined the fire was deliberately set.

No one was hurt.
