Suspect in Inverness Co. home invasion expected back in court in March

A woman from Sydney Mines facing three charges after a home invasion in Inverness Co. has had her case adjourned.

Jessica Carolanne Leroy, 23, who has been charged with break-and-enter to a residence, assault with a weapon and resisting arrest, was scheduled for election-and-plea in Wagmatcook Provincial Court Wednesday; instead, the hearing was adjourned until March 6.

It was also adjourned in September, October, November and December.

RCMP say a woman and three men went to a home on Subdivision Rd. in Waycobah in May; there was an altercation, and bear spray was used.

They say another woman was injured when she was assaulted with a rock.

Police say they arrested the woman following a short foot chase; she was treated for minor injuries, spent the night in custody, and was released on conditions the next day.

They say they also arrested a man, but he fled in a vehicle.
