Suspect in Judique fight pleads not guilty

A man charged following a fight in Inverness Co. has entered a not guilty plea in the case.

RCMP say they were called to the store in Judique one Saturday morning in April.

They say one man punched another in the face; one person was injured.

Daniel Jerome Gillis, 61, of Judique faces an assault causing bodily harm count; his case opened with an arraignment hearing in June.

Gillis pleaded not guilty during an election-and-plea hearing in Port Hawkesbury Provincial Court Thursday; he’s scheduled to stand trial Feb. 20.
