Councillors in the Town of Antigonish have approved their latest budget.
Town councillors unanimously passed their 2018-19 operating budget during a special meeting Thursday night.
An increase to the town’s tax rates is included in the new fiscal plan, with both the residential and commercial rates three cents higher; the town’s new residential rate is $1.09/$100 of assessment, while the new commercial rate is $2.61/$100 of assessment.
Tax rates in Antigonish have increased four of the last five years.
The total operating budget is $10.4 million.
