The Port Hawkesbury Craft Incubator has room for more crafters.

Mayor Brenda Chisholm-Beaton says it’s a must see in Port Hawkesbury.

At the regular town council meeting last night Chisholm-Beaton said there’s still some room left for other craft artists.

“We have somebody who is there doing some work with pottery, there’s also room there for a jeweler and room from other potters and other types of craft activity,” she says. “It’s actually quite beautiful.”

Applicants must be an emerging craftsperson with design and technical skills, want a full-time career as a professional craftsperson and must commit to working in the studio for an agreed number of hours per week.

Chisholm-Beaton said it’s not just the artisan residents who have work there, but many other artist around the island of Cape Breton.
