Theatre Baddeck postpones season

Another local theatre group has postponed it’s 2020 season.

In a release Monday, Theatre Baddeck Co-Artistic Producers Christy MacRae-Ziss and Hannah Ziss announced the season would be cancelled due to ongoing health and safety concerns from COVID-19.

Ziss said it’s unsafe for theater members and audiences.

“The health and safety of our audiences and artists is our top priority,” Ziss said. “Theatre relies on gathering groups in close proximity, both to prepare a theatrical production and to present it, therefore, we cannot proceed with a season that could endanger so many people.”

The release said Theatre Baddeck will look for ways to stay connected to patrons and the community through the pandemic, but no details were released.

It said anyone who has purchased tickets will be contacted by email, or can call the box office to learn about options.
