Three new cases of COVID-19

Three provincial health zones have one new case each.

The Department of Health and Wellness says there is one case in Eastern Zone.

They say it is in an employee who works on the Marine Atlantic ferry between North Sydney and Newfoundland.

Officials say the case is under investigation, in partnership with the company and their counterparts in Newfoundland and Labrador.

Meanwhile, reps with Inverary Manor say a case in the community was brought to their attention, so they’ve suspended all visits at the Inverness long-term care home out of an abundance of caution until further notice.

They say the case is not in the facility.

The two remaining cases in the province are in a close contact of a previously reported case in the Northern Zone, and a new travel-related case in the Central Zone.

With two recoveries, the province now has a total of 23 active infections.
