Tokyo Olympics – What will our athletes be wearing?

Canada’s athletes will be wearing….a Canadian Tuxedo????

The pants are white Levi’s. This look is for the closing ceremonies.

They will also have these red jackets – they look a bit like leather, but Hudson’s Bay (which is the official outfitter this year) says they’re a nylon. The 13 stripes through the maple leaf represent the 10 provinces and 3 territories. This is the opening ceremony outfit.

You’ll also note a fanny pack….worn crossbody.

Our athletes will look a bit more sporty on the podium – wearing this jacket and track pants combo.

Tokyo will host the Olympics July 23 to August 8. They were supposed to be held last summer but were postponed. Confusingly, these games will still be known as the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games despite taking place in 2021.
