Tories hold seats in all Quad Counties for first time in 50 years

It’s the first time in 50 years there’s been a Tory MLA in every Quad Counties riding.

The last time we saw that was in 1970, even then the PCs and Liberals shared representation in Inverness.

That riding re-elected Tory MLA Allan MacMaster this time around. Inverness has been blue since 1999.

Tory Trevor Boudreau took Richmond, it had been Progressive Conservative under former MLA Alana Poan, but she was booted from the party in 2019.

PCs Michelle Thompson and Greg Morrow unseated Liberal cabinet ministers in Antigonish and Guysborough-Tracadie, those ridings haven’t been blue since 2009.

  • Kelly MacMillan lives in Port Hawkesbury with her husband and son. She has been part of the team at 101.5 The Hawk for more than 25 years, sharing stories from around the region. You can join her weekdays from 10am until 2pm.
