Town of Antigonish brings playboxes to local parks

Sometimes there’s nothing better than playing in a park, and the town of Antigonish is making it easier for their residents to do just that.

The town is bringing back playboxes to a couple of their local parks. They’re giant metal boxes filled with toys and sports equipment. Anyone and everyone is welcome to use them at any time of day.

Mayor Laure boucher says it’s part of the town’s goal to promote active living.

“We all know that one of the determinants of health is happy, active living. So, if we can provide some of the tools that families and individuals can use to help move throughout the day, we’re more than happy to do that,” said Boucher.

the boxes are checked frequently to make sure that they have a consistent stock of of fun items to play with.

You can find the playboxes at Columbus field and Central Turf Field.
