Town releases pandemic preparedness plan

The Town of Port Hawkesbury has released its COVID-19 pandemic preparedness plan.

In a statement today, town officials say the Port Hawkesbury Civic Centre, arena and walking track, fitness centre, public works garage and treatment buildings are being closed to the public Thursday at 8 p.m.

Bill payments may still be made electronically or by mail, but interest charges will be waived until town offices reopen.

Curbside garbage collection will continue, but organics pickup has been postponed.

All council meetings will be held virtually and released to the public on the town’s Facebook page.
