Tree for Boston on its way!

The Tree for Boston was cut down today. It comes from L’arche Cape Breton’s property in Orangedale, Inverness County.

It will begin it’s journey to Boston.

It is scheduled to arrive by police escort at Boston Common late morning on November 17.

This year is the 50th time a tree has been donated. The tree is a thank you from Nova Scotia to the people of Boston for their assistance after the Halifax explosion in 1917.

It will leave Halifax on Monday via container vessel.

The tree lighting will be on December 2 on Boston Common.
