Truck driver in serious condition after Baddeck collision

A man is in hospital with serious injuries following a traffic collision in Victoria County.

Baddeck RCMP say they are investigating a single vehicle tractor-trailer collision on Hwy 105 near Exit 9 in Baddeck which occurred Sunday night.

They say shortly after 7 Sunday evening a motorist called 911 to report a tractor-trailer operating erratically.

RCMP responded and located the tractor-trailer overturned in the ditch at exit 9 on Big Baddeck Road.

RCMP say they determined the truck had been travelling east in the westbound lane before leaving the highway and rolling into ditch.

The 41-year-old male driver and lone occupant of the tractor-trailer was transported to hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries.

The roadway was not closed during this incident and the plan was to remove the truck Monday.

RCMP say the investigation is ongoing.
