Trunk or Treat will take place on Sunday

A local group is hosting a safe Halloween event for children this weekend.

Raising the Villages will have Trunk or Treat in Port Hawkesbury on Sunday.

Pre-registration took place and the event is now fully booked.

Raising the Villages is excited to see the children this weekend.

Janelle Kehoe, chair of Raising the Villages, says kids will make their way from car to car and pick up treats.

“All those people that have pre-registered have been emailed a arrival time and they will come and they will go through the little alleyway of cars and the kids will get their treat bags.”

Kehoe says they wanted to create an event that could realistically take place during the pandemic.

She says Truck or Treat wouldn’t be able to happen without volunteers and members of the community.

“We have a lot of businesses in town that are setting up trunks and will be passing out treats and we have some individuals as well.”

Trunk or Treat is Sunday afternoon from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m.
