A pair of local emergency rooms are in the midst of temporary weekend closures.
The Strait Richmond Hospital’s emergency department in Evanston and the Victoria Co. Memorial Hospital’s ER in Baddeck both shut down Saturday, and re-open at 8 a.m. Monday; the Baddeck ER will also be closed from 4 p.m. Tuesday until 8 a.m. Wednesday, and again from 4 p.m. Thursday until 8 a.m. Friday.
A lack of physician coverage is the reason for the closures.
